Vinicio Momoli was born in San Giorgio delle Pertiche, Padua, in 1942, in that territory where, over the centuries, some of the greatest Italian and European artists and scholars have expressed themselves. His liveliness and curiosity led him, from an early age, to travel and move through the world of art and culture, putting him in contact with the avant-garde of Paris and New York, starting his original expressive research, attributable to minimalist thinking and the simplicity of form - matter - color. Mainly active between Riese Pio X (Treviso) and Paris, he has exhibited mainly in Europe, Canada and the United States. He has participated in the Biennale of Kuwait, Beijing and Venice. Its debut dates back to the early seventies. Already in 1971 he participated in several group exhibitions in Veneto and in 1974 he exhibited at the Harrison Club Gallery in New York. After New York, he participates in some solo and group exhibitions in galleries and exhibition spaces throughout the country. In 1984 he took part in the "Nouvelles Perspectives" exhibition at the Bonvin space of UNESCO, in Paris. On the occasion of the solo exhibition at the Meeting Gallery in Mestre (VE), in 1986 he published the catalog entitled "Flight of Icarus" with the text "Messages of love" by Giorgio Ruggeri. He presents the exhibition "Last Works 88-89" in Castelfranco Veneto at the Casa Giorgione Museum, in 1989, with text in the catalog by Roberto Daolio and, the following year in Munich, at the Hartmann Gallery. In 1991 he was invited to Paris to exhibit at the Espace Picasso of the UNESCO Palace, with texts in the catalog by Omar Calabrese and Giulio Ciavoliello. Between 1991 and 1993 he exhibited in Paris at the Grand Palais as part of "Réalitées Nouvelles"; in Vienna (Austria) at the Licandro Gallery; in Valencia, Spain, at the Rita Garcia Gallery, with text in the catalog by David Perez and in Palma de Mallorca at the Gianni Giacobbi Gallery; in Taranto at the Extra Gallery, with text in the catalog by Valerio Dehò; in Rome at the Fontanella Borghese Gallery, with text in the catalog by Luigi Meneghelli. In 1994 he was invited to the Diecidue Arte exhibitions in Milan and L’Uovo di Struzzo in Turin, with texts in the catalog by Pierre Restany and Boris Brollo. In the same year he participated, as a guest, at the Pohlhammer Gallery of the Arbeitswelt Museum in Steyr (Austria) and in Treviso, at the exhibition spaces of Cà dei Carraresi. In Palma de Mallorca, at the Gianni Giacobbi Gallery, in 1995. In 1996 he exhibited at Cittadella, “The secrets of the place” and in Paris at Espace Branly-Tour Eiffel. In 1997 he was invited to Turin as part of the exhibition "Và Pensiero, Arte Italiana 1984-1996" and exhibited at the Pohlhammer Gallery of the Arbeitswelt Museum in Steyr, Austria, with text in the catalog by Martin Hochleitner. In 1998 he was invited to Santillana del Mar (Santander, Spain) at Las Casas del Aguila y La Parra, with texts in the catalog by Marcos-Ricardo Barnatàn and Francisco Javier Lòpez Marcano. The exhibition was also presented at the ARCO Madrid International Contemporary Art Fair. Solo exhibition in Verona at the La Giarina Gallery, and invitation to the International Symposium "Scogliera viva" in Caorle (Venice) where you can admire his work on the waterfront; in 1998 and 1999, in Palma de Mallorca, he exhibited again at the Gianni Giacobbi Gallery. In 2000 he was invited to Bologna, with a personal exhibition, at the G7 Gallery and at the Kuwait Bienniale of Contemporary Art (United Arab Emirates). Then, in 2001, he created the installation "Insense", in Sens, France, at Anciens Bâtiments Municipaux de la Ville. He exhibits in Casier, at Spazio Juliet; in Paris, at Galerie Weiller; in Trieste, at Juliet's Room. In 2002, again in Paris, at the Galerie Weiller. Exhibitions at the Abbey of Spineto (Siena), in Torrelavega (Spain), at the Centro Nacional de Fotografia "Words in the Air", with text in the catalog by Mariano Navarro and again in Spain, at the University of León, "Coin d'air”, with text in the catalog by Maria José Corominas Madurell. One year later he is invited to Madrid, at the Tiempos Modernos Gallery and in Palma de Mallorca, at the Gianni Giacobbi Gallery. On the occasion of his 25th anniversary, the University of León commissioned him to create a monumental sculpture to be placed on the Vegazana Campus and organized a solo show, with text in the catalog by Javier Hernando Carrasco. The second Beijing Bienniale in 2005 welcomed him with the work "Towards the future", purchased by the Chinese Ministry of Culture. In 2006 he won the international "Public Art" competition in Toronto with the "Counterpoint" project, for the creation of twenty-eight works, in enamel on glass, located outside the "ONE City Hall". He also exhibits at the Pagani Museum in Castellanza (Varese), “Formaperdere”, with text in the catalog by Emma Zanella. 2007 is the year of the great retrospective "1987-2007" in Castelfranco Veneto, in the most important spaces of the city: at Museo Casa Giorgione, at Teatro Accademico, at Sagrato del Duomo, at Giardini del Castello, where one of his permanent works in Asiago stone, "Contraccanto", is installed. On this occasion, the "NEXITURE" catalog is published with the introduction by Javier Hernando Carrasco and Edoardo di Mauro and the reviews of fourteen important critics. In the same year, Credito Trevigiano BCC acquires the Asiago stone work "Grande Verde" for the garden of the Villa Emo headquarters, Fanzolo di Vedelago (Treviso). In 2009 he was invited to the 53rd Venice Biennale of art, where he presented "Nexiture Contact", a permanent monumental sculpture, installed on the Certosa island, as part of the "The Ideal City" project. He exhibits "The Infinite Abstraction" at the THETIS Space of the Venice Arsenal and, subsequently, in Daverio (Varese), at the Villa Gallery.
